We got seven beautiful large walleyes fishing with Tony on Friday evening, 6-27-14. We bounced leeches in the mud flats with a good bite for quite awhile. We had 7 nice walleyes landed, two or three missed, but only one good slot keeper.

Most walleyes were 23 -26 inches and were carefully released. Malmo Mike got a good slot keeper, just under 20 inches.

We also fished late evening on the 2 mile reef in gravel but the bite had slowed down. The windy times had the better bite. It was very windy in the flats.

Mike with a slot keeper, Tony with a monster walleye hog released. It was a windy day but they were taking bait.

Malmo Mike, thanks for the report. I'm heading up to Mille Lacs on Thursday. Can't wait! Picked up some new bouncer equipment today, looking forward to trying it out. How long of a snell should I have on behind the bouncer?

I like to make my rigs a little longer then most people i would go 7 to 9 feet.I would really go with some

spinners with crawler harness red hooks a plus perch color blades,.gold blades match the forage good

luck.Try the edges of flats, try the tops of flats locate the fish is key I would pull your spinners 1 to 1.5 mph.

Howdy Palmer360!

We were using 7 foot fluorocarbon snell rigs with a plain (small) hook. I had some big Vados leeches. Good luck man. MM

Rock with those Vados leeches, amigo. You guys are like movie stars now. Don't worry, I'll still say "hi" to your big-headed selves. Good work on the eyes, guys.

Howdy Fishnpole,

I will get us a movie offer soon. HA! I will be back in late September to come for a visit and share a few cold beverages with you. We saw you on 2 mile reef but they were NOT taking our Vados leech bait even. Back on shore in Malmo -- So little time so much grass to mow!

Missing you guys already. MM
