Ok, I know the legal age is 18, but is it possible to get one at 16 with parents consent? Not for me but my boyfriend. He said he'd like one for his 17th. I'm pretty sure it's 18, nothing else. But when I searched online some people said it's ok and some said it's not. And some twats said get a fake ID.

Poor boy has been obsessed with tattoos since he was nine. All he does is plan what he's going to get. And he still has two years to wait. He actually got upset yesterday. Silly softy.

I don't know about the UK, but here there are only laws applicable to the modification of genitals and breasts. Other than that, it is up to the discretion of the studio. Most studios will only tattoo people who are 18 or over.

After a bit of Googling, it seems that the law in Britain is 18. Any studio that will tattoo a minor are probably not very responsible and should be avoided.

I think it's best to wait til the age of 18 anyway, it's something to look forward to.

That's what I think. But the sights I was looking at gave mixed messages. He's already found the studio he wants to go to. They are very good and I doubt they'll touch him with a big long stick until he's eighteen. I think he'd rather wait until he's 18 and get something of quality than be impatient and get that butcher woman in Pencoed to do it.... (sorry - she ruined my cousins arm)

Reputable studios only tattoo 18+. Mainly because it would be very illegal not to.

I got a swallow tattoed on my left wrist, on the outer side near the wrist bone.it's blue, green (mint) and white. Beaut. I got it done the day before yesterday so it still looks like a transfer as it's so bold, and the way its wrapped makes me look like a wrist slitter. Needless to say the funny looks came from a mile off.

A time ago I thought about getting a tattoo.. (I had doubts if I still could live with it in a couple of years :/ ... - the idea is still spinning in my head, and to be true I really would like to have it.)

A skull on my right bladebone, black/white, in style of the Mexican festival "Día de los muertes" (they celebrate the dead visiting the here and now), covered with larvals and some butterflies around it, coming out of the skull.

(Sounds somewhat emo, I know. :/ )

Have :- victorian style heart on my lower back, Daisies on the back of my neck, Snake and cherry blossoms on my upper arm, old school blue rose on my forearm, curly script on my wrists.
Want (all booked up ready) :- Japanese cat and blossoms, clouds and water for my snake and blossoms, russian doll with scissors, anchor/swallow/rose combo...and there'll be may more to come. I love tattoos.

I'm thinking of getting the eternity symbol on my right wrist and a Marylin Monroe or Dr Seuss quote on my left arm, decorated with roses. I'm thinking of getting lyrics down my ribs, I'm hoping to find a place for a book quote or two and I'm thinking of getting a cheeky little heart on my right palm around a little freckle, if this is even possible.

My little brother and sibling-to-be's names on my shoulder blades in dainty swirly scripts.

Talking of Sugar skulls, i just got my chest piece started (the out line) last week.Sugar skull in the middle with purple spider webs at the sides and 3 old school roses beneth the skull :)

My other tattoos are:

Cherries hanging from a bow, at the back of my neck

bows with skulls in the centre, on the back of each leg (at the bottom)

Sailor Jerry style pin up in a martini glass with dice,cards,stars e.t.c (top,middle of my back)

Sailor jerry style Angel/Devil pin up girl with flames, clouds,playing cards and with a banner thats reads 'don't gamble with love', inner forearm

2 old school roses, one on each foot

Did have a rose on my left breast but is now covered up with another rose for my new chest piece, not that i regret getting that one done,it just didnt work with the chest piece...

And finally the Eye Of Horus, top right arm.

Think i like old school tattoos,lol! Apart from my eye of Horus, from my Goth days...

I've recently decided I want some bats on my wrist. That would be really cool :]

I wish I had bigger wrists, they seem too small to fit anything on!

Getting a horror pin up on my arm but that isn't til 1st October. Planning a maori god and symbols around my ankle, still debating if I should get it done traditionally.

I have a weird thing about teeth.

I absolutely love sugar skull tattoos.
I plan on getting one eventually.
I'll have it only in black though.

I would love a litte heart on my wrist. I would get a heart with a rainbow inside (GAY PRIDE!), but I could not bare looking at some runny faded shit when I'm old.

^Nah, I'm not old enough. But, I may get the colour and just get it topped up every so often.

If you look after it, and get it redone a couple of times it shouldn't be so bad.

I want a little black cat on my hip, like a silhouette but with yellow eyes. I love cats.
