Dearest Ben and Elizabeth,

The site is looking great!, and the girls even greater!

Below are some of my book suggestions:

Meg and Mog?

Dr Suess - The cat in the hat?

Oh you have to have the classic books like Cinderella, Rumplestiltskin (I think thats how you spell it!), Sleeping beauty etc..

All the best, and let us know how you get along with the Library.

Your Friend,

Jack, London UK

One of our favorite books when the girls were little was called "Mama, Do You Love Me?" It is a wonderful story of unconditional love. (I also loved the large, loving "mama") We read it together...the girls would "read" the child's words and I the mother's. Obviously they did it by memory which was easily done since it was almost a nightly ritual.

A second nightly ritual for the girls when they were very young was "Goodnight, Moon."

There are so many good books and it is great parental fun discovering them all!

I'm so excited to hear the library is being started already! A book that they MUST have is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.  I also recommend Where the Sidewalk Ends or The Light in the Attic, also by Silverstein.  They contain funny little poems. . . might give them an appreciation for poetry as littles ones.  Also, I have a list of all the Collicot winners (best pictures). . . I'd recommend any of them too.  Let me know if you're interested in the list.

P.S.  The girls are adorable and the page looks great!

Hi guys! Your website looks great! Those girls are smiling and laughing, they are beautiful! Children's books, that's right up my alley!
Goodnight Moon
Is Your Mama A Llama?
No David! (good in a couple of years)
Silly Sally
The Napping House (or anything by Dean & Audrey Wood)
Good Dog Carl (wordless picture book)
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Sheep In A Jeep
My Many Colored Days
Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo
How Do I Love You?
Miss Spider's Tea Pary (or any in that series)
Owl Babies (one of my favorites)
I Love You, Little One
Give Me Grace
I Went Walking or Let's Go Visiting
Time for Bed
One Duck Stuck

I'm getting carried away. Anyway, just a little tip: I bought a lot of board books at TJ Max and Marshalls, they are usually about 50% less there. Also for later they sometimes have the big wooden picture puzzles with fat knobs for under $10.00, those are usually pretty expensive in an educational store. Happy shopping! Hope to see you guys soon!

Hi guys,

This site is awesome!  I can't believe how fast the girls are growing...they are adorable :)  Well, Livvy's favorite book is The Remarkable Farkable McBride.  It was written by the actor Jon Lithgow and it about a musical prodigy who works his way through numerous instruments until he realizes his favorite sound is musicians all playing together.  It's a cute story with a rhythmic pattern and beautiful pictures.  Be prepared to read it over, and over, and over again!

Hi Ben and Liz, I got completely addicted to your website. You have a great site, beautiful kids, and a fabulous photographer (Liz, i assume?)! We have 20-month-old twin girls and going through your site was a walk down memory lane! You and I even talk the same when describing our girls!

Our girls went nuts with books at about 14 months. This is a great idea! We wasted so much money on books that they never looked at twice. I have to agree with some of the books already listed.

Miss Spider's Tea Party is very cute.

One Duck Stuck seems so dull but the girls absolutely love it--still--and it is eventually becomes very fun to read...

Peek-a-Who by Nina Laden

Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton

Bear Snores On (I love this one)

zin zin zin a violin

Peekaboo Kisses

Do Zebras Have Spots?

and their absolute favorite from 6 months to about 18 months was What is it? and I can't remember the author! It is a board book with holes. "Is it a dish?" flip "No, it's a fish" flip "Is it a mat?" flip "No, it's a cat."   It is wonderful! We would add the sounds the cat made, or the car, or put up our hand for the hand-sand spread. This is where they learned to fight! we had to buy two! Amy Meyer Allen! Here, I found it! http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=so4SRix9Uo&isbn=1887169105&itm=2

Another they loved was Ten Little Dinosaurs with the rolly eyes. Again, this one has lasted from 6 months to the present 20 month old monsters I have...:) Don't waste you money on the companion googly eye books with the frog or the baby. The dinosaur poem flows out better; we have even adapted it to song... Also, when you have to read it 3000 times you want to enjoy the book a bit yourself as well.

Thanks for the great site! Keep adding those pictures!!!
