I have a Nepalese friend who has problem with his wife. His wife always kick him with no reason, angry with no reason. His wife only treats him as a labour. He feels very bad and wants to escape. Now he wants to divorce. However, the policy in Nepal is that only wife can address to divorce and for the man, they have no right to address to divorce. Is it the real case? It's really unreasonable. He is a very simply boy. He don't know what he can do. Would you please give me some suggestion? Or which department in Nepal he can contact? Please help!!
He can file a case to her wife but he have to file application in VDC or Municipality office rather than court .After the decision of VDC or Municipality office, only then he can go to the court . In divorce case VDC or Municipality office would not decide in the case . they will try to solve it in home, if that is not possible then they will refer to the court . so it may takes several years. If we count the years , one or more years in VDC or Municipality office and same as in court .
Re : if his wife is ready to give divorce it will take not more than 2 weeks
