Kentucky Biscuits

These are soooo easy and soooo good!!!

Kentucky Biscuits

1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 T. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup shortening

Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Make a well in the center. Add milk and shortening. Stir with a fork. Place mix onto a lightly floured surface and knead 6-8 times. Pat out 1/2" thick and cut out 3/4" round biscuits. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake in preheated 425* oven for 10-12 minutes.

I tried something with this recipe over the weekend ... we were having the Chinese Chicken Salad for dinner and I thought about the 'Fried Biscuits' that they sometimes serve on the buffets at Chinese restaurants ....

Sooooo ... instead of baking the biscuits, I made them smaller and flatter and fried them, and then threw some powdered sugar on them!  They actually tasted the same as the restaurants and DD and DH LOVED them!!!!

Give it a try! You won't be sorry!!!
