CLARENDON -- Paul Edward Knox, 54, of Clarendon, died suddenly Tuesday evening, Oct, 28, 2008, in an automobile accident in Clarendon.

He was born July 2, 1954, in Holly Grove to Edward Lee Knox and Jeanette Stokes-Knox. He was a lifelongmember of Norman Chapel C.M.E. Church in Holly Grove and was employed as a maintenance specialist at Riceland Foods of Stuttgart for more than 16 years. He was avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening and working outdoors. He loved watching western movies and most of all he had a great love of family and friends. Nothing pleased him more than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors are his wife, Lolita Knox of Clarendon; his mother, Jeanette Knox of Holly Grove; three daughters, Tondelia and Randy Nichols of Little Rock, Kelsey and Kent Ewans of Holly Grove, and Kenya Jones of Clarendon; a son, LaRico Jones of Clarendon; four brothers, Richard and Shirley Knox, John Knox and Robert and Renee Knox, all of Holly Grove, and Jonathan and Charlotte Knox of Clarendon; four sisters, Eddie Knox-Ray of Little Rock, Joyce and Ricardo Ware and Patricia Jackson, all of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Gracie Mae and Roosevelt Walker of Arlington, Texas; his mother-in-law, Delois Allen of Clarendon; two uncles, A.C. Stokes of Chicago and V.T. and Elsa M. Knox of Columbus, Ohip; three aunts, Bernice Hicks and Mitte Jenkins, both of Elaine, and Mary Clingman of Los Angeles; five grandchildren , and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Holly Grove High School gymnasium with the Rev. Willie Gilmore officiating. Internment was in Hayes Cemetery at Holly Grove by Branscumb Johnson and Gilchrest Funeral Home of Brinkley. Pallbearers were Rickey Earnest, David Jones, Donnell Smith, Ivory Rich, Dale Sims and Jasper Tabb.
