Using Google Checkout on ebay - the ebay approved way

Use Google Checkout the ebay legal way. Very simple.

Do Not mention Google in your listing.

Select credit card/merchant account payments on SYI.

Do Not use ebay checkout system.

Send buyer invoice via private email after auction end.

Q:

Secondly, please clarify the following items:

#1 Does the policy only apply to LISTINGS, or does it apply to all Store pages, promotion boxes, and about me pages as well?

For example, could a seller put a link to their Store Policies page in a listing, and on the Store Policies page still be allowed to put Cash or other payment methods, as an acceptable payment method?

#2 The policy also does not prevent sellers and buyers from negotiating payment methods after the sale, where cash or beads or stamps could be used for payment, if both parties agree to it. The policy only limits the advertising of payment methods during a live listing, pre-transaction by the seller.

#3 What process would sellers who want to use a new service, or new services themselves, need to go through to apply for eBay's approval to be allowed to be used in listings under the new policy (related to the confusion on which third-parties are "good" and which are "bad" under the new policy as I stated in my first post).

Hi Kxxxxx:

Let me try to address each of your questions:

#1 - The policy applies to all forms of solicitation of payment on the site so it applies to listings, Store pages, Me pages, etc.

#2 - eBay cannot police activity off of the site so the policy does not apply.

#3 - While we haven't set up a formal process - emailing us in Trust and Safety with a question about a specific payment method is okay. We may set up a formal process later.

Thanks for the thoughtful questions.

Matt

Even though the Pinks declare that it is legal, does that make them correct?
Here is my current thought...

They suspended users for offering WU because of saftey issues, why couldn't they do the same to people who offer GC?
