I do not belive the poster of this thread.  I don't belive they  are a Democrat, nor do I belive they are Black, or would vote for Mr. Obama in the first place.  This sounds like one of those Rush Lindbaugh "operation chaos" ploys, to incite folks into making a circus of the convention.  It is just plain stupid, ignorant and wreckless to go and protest something one imagines could happen at the convention.  To respond AFTER if indeed it did become FACT would be an appropiate issue for that time.  It's a no-brainer.  The poster Ian C. does not sound like they are dumb judgeing from their grammar and knowledge of history.  Therefore I must question their motive with this jump the gun protest, then vote for McCain wisdom.

 You were right!
Operatives on a secret mission followed clues leading directly to Carl Rove who then left a cyber trail to Rush!! They were both seen being picked up in a BlackHawk and the secret ploy was executed via top secret agent Ian C. with express direction to come to this dismal site and plant that message to you and the one other member here!!

Beware.. As my top agents have sent message that there is word of Sean Hannity and Glen Beck are pooling resources to undermine Obama by photo shoping Obama into a KFC wearing a fur coat in august with a gem laden pimp goblet filled with cool aid in one hand and a phat blunt in the other as he utters Bitch betta have my money!

 End Transmition..
This message will self destruct in 10.. 9.. 8...

Obama  has already stolen the nomination. I'm going to protest in support of Hillary who got more votes and who won Michigan and Florida, states Obama didnt want her to get all the delegatesa for but now wants as his own. He is UNQUALIFIED and ARROGANT and I will not be happy till he loses and Mc Cain wins so Hillary can rightfully win the Presidency in 2012. He can go on preaching to the masses he will not win.

Calm down. Obama is going to be president.  Hillary is not going to steal anything.  Obama is predestined to be president.  That is what Martin Luther King, Jr. saw when God allowed him to look over the mountaintop! Listen to the Promised Land speech.  Listen to the March on Washington Speech.  God is the one who puts people in power.  Never forget that.

It was suggested today on The Power that black people (and righteous others) should start preparing to go to Denver en masse to protest the Democratic Convention in August (24th - 28th) in case Hillary tries to steal the nomination.   Subsequently, it was suggested that we follow-up that protest with <gulp> a vote for John McCain in the national election.  I, for one, wholeheartedly agree with both of these suggestions.  By the way, I am a dye-in-the-wool, ACLU-card-carrying, 359-degrees-to-the-left Democrat, lest anyone think otherwise.
However, if you want to talk about being undervalued, underestimated and marginalized, what leverage will we have, if we sit idly by and allow Senator Clinton to steal this nomination?  The Democratic Party has taken our votes for granted for decades.  Allowing Hillary Clinton to steal the nomination, without voicing any REAL resistance, would solidify our status as "sheep" in the political process.  Some will lament that by protesting and voting Republican in the fall, we would be turning our backs on the Democratic Party and handing the election to the Republicans.  To that I say So What!  This action is not about loyalty.  This is about our dignity and self-respect.  This is not about them.  This is about us.  We have moaned and groaned for years that the Democrats take us for granted and the Republicans ignore us.  Well this is our opportunity to take a stand. And we will never again have an opportunity such as this to let our voices be heard if they are not heard now.   As one caller termed it this is A Perfect Storm. Furthermore, there are, after all, worse things than losing an election.  We lost in 1980 and 1984 and we survived.  We had elections stolen in 2000 and 2004, and most of us survived.  The question that we must ask ourselves is if Hillary Clinton steals the nomination and wins the presidency, what have WE won? What will our standing be in the American political process?  I think ultimately, if that scenario plays out, we would have lost more than anyone could imagine.
On a practical and historical note, in 1976, Ronald Reagan failed to support Gerald Ford in his bid for the presidency.  Ford lost to Jimmy Carter, who served only one term.  The rest is history.  Here, McCain is 72 years old.  He's a one-term president no matter what happens.  If Hillary Clinton, in fact, steals this nomination, we could put the World on notice by voting Republican this fall, and setting up Barack Obama to return victoriously (if we can convince Michelle to let him run again) in 2012.  (By the way, the situation in Iraq should be less of a quagmire in 2012 than it is now, and even if McCain does absolutely nothing regarding the housing crisis, natural economic forces should right the housing market by then).
So it is up to you people.  Will the 2008 Democratic Convention result in demonstrations or a coronation?  You decide.
