Is it half of the size of ThatLuang stupa in VTE? I didn't know they are building a replica in Luang Namtha. Hopefully, I'll get to see it someday.

Lao PDR do care about Lao culture and Heritage. Those Monarchy supporter, of the old regime can shut up now. Their argument does not hold merith anymore.

I also see the new temple in Chiang Mai. Lao/Thai government built those. Those temple are symbol of Lao people. NOT THE MONARCHY. MONARCHIES DESTROYED LANG XANG. IF GIVEN THE CHANCE, THEY WILL DESTROY LAOS AGAIN. BECAUSE THEY ARE GREEDY BASTARD!

Revolutionaries just end up doing what the old regime does, its just this time around there is no war to take them out of power, so more **** gets done.

Last time I checked, temples are a symbol of Buddhism and its community, regardless of ethnic.

Why build another copy? it's located in Luang Namtha, so why don't they build a style that is the symbol fo that region.

Its not about a region. Its about a country as a whole. Thuat Luang is a symbol of Laos.
