I saw a film today...

"Yesterday" from Danny Boyle.

Everyone talks about the special cameo (no, I don't want to spoil the party) but for me one thing was much more important:

The world has forgotten Oasis (and the Beatles) but not that "Common People" from Pulp was always a number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that's worth to share here.

Yes, I saw the film and was going to mention it on here. The mind of a Pulp fan..as soon as the character (quite a shy, awkward indie kid) talks about being dumped by a girl and that it's OK to be second choice/number two, I knew he was going to apply the comparison to a song that got to number two and I was hoping it would be Common People. As soon as he said it I smiled like a proud father...

I wonder if there has been a spike in views of Common People on YouTube since the movie came out. Enjoyable film too, I thought. I even respect Ed Sheeran quite a bit now!

Same! It was a nice surprise. I though Ed Sheeran was fantastic in the film.

P.S.: In a world without Oasis, would the great britpop war be between Pulp and Blur?

Blur was not even mentioned. Do they exist in this new world? I wonder. In my fantasy Richard Curtis is a big Pulp-fan. Remember "Born to cry" on the Notting Hill Soundtrack?

In this Common people scene "Seconds" would have been another good choice. But it was never a hit.
