It's all in the other thread - just throw it in there.

Oh and check the last page of the "Under The Influence" thread, your Boomtown knowledge is required..

Jarv Is... and The Boomtown Rats seem to be in sync with each other for me right now. They were both due to play London on 1st May and both have dropped a single on Spotify within 24 hours of each other. I can cautiously recommend the new Rats LP., Citizens of Boomtown. Tracks 2-6 are very good. Tracks 7-9 are listenable. But cannot bear first and last track...

PS The Rats are within rather than beyond the Pale, though arguable played their most famous gig on the edge of it en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pale

My guess is that there was never to be a 3rd single but because the album was delayed they needed to kick up a bit more promo.

Anyway... is a single even a single anymore? It's just youtube videos and spotify releases. B - sides don't even exist anymore. Nowt to even really get excited about these days.

OH MY GAWD... I'm old!

Never thought I'd say this but The wrinkly bits are the best.

Ooh, I really like this one! There's a very strong Leonard Cohen vibe going on.

I was about to say "It's not bad".

Another in-depth critical analysis for you.

Anyway... I can't wait to listen to the album from start to finish. The songs I've heard so far, and in a few different incarnations, have been great although a very mixed bag. I remember someone saying something like "although 'Separations' only has 9 songs, there is a lot of variation" (and that's true), I think I'll end up saying something similar about this album.
