Where do I begin?

I was spoilt by Leeds 2011 when I first saw them, and the sound issues that seemed to plague the stage all day were prevalent, but as soon as those captions came up on the stage screens, I was ready. The lead in to I Spy just got the mood absolutely massive. The string players added a huge extra dimension to everything.

It was an absolute masterclass, I think though because it was a festival slot a few tracks kinda went over everyone's head, stuff like Dishes and Weeds 1 & 2 (which I couldn't believe was actually happening) had a bit of a crowd lull at the back, but it was an all round die hard pleasing set. I am only a little gutted that we didn't get After You. Pink Glove was wonderful to hear though, and Like A Friend was just incredible.

It got me thinking after - it was a lot different than the last time I saw them in 2011, but it was like a new, different phase of Pulp. It's hard to explain typing down here but it was more than just a heritage act job - like maybe there's room for something more after this tour? An older, still very vital band that could put out an album that may be a little more somber than We Love Live, given Steve's passing, but incorporating the strings and nature of where they are now as a band.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but with Jarvis saying hopefully next time they won't take as long to come back, what he said in an interview in 2012 that if they did get back together again they'd probably have to 'make some jams'. @Scott I hope you're onto something that something huge is happening, it will be very interesting to see where the next 6 months goes.

Overall a great festival day, Bootleg Beatles were incredible - blew my socks off. As I said before there were lots of sound issues seemingly with the main stage, but we had a nice camping matt right in the middle of the field and it was absolutely lush to just put the phone away, turn the mind off and enjoy the company, vibes and music all day.
