The CD is only £2.45 on eBay and that includes postage from Germany. Treat yourself.

You could get it off Soulseek in a second. Weird that you'd come on a forum looking for a track that was officially released on a best-selling CD single.

Weirdly, I remember the Night CD being really hard to get hold of for ages. CD1 was readily available in the racks at HMV/wherever for years, but it took quite a few years to track down CD2 at a record fair.

(Cool story, thanks Sturdy)

Will this turn up on streaming later this week as part of Universal's "singles re-release" schedule, I wonder?

Hope so. I wonder if there was some weird deal with the rights to the tracks that meant they weren't included on the deluxe edition - weren't they from a radio session or something?

Yes, BBC GLR (Greater London Radio).

Hooray, the Common People "EP" is up on streaming and the acoustic versions of Dogs Are Everywhere and Joyriders are included!

Hurrah. I'd forgotten how much I liked these tracks.

Wonder where and when these were actually recorded? I know Dogs and Joyriders were on that GLR session but Razz wasn't.

At one time there was a practice of bands pre-recording tracks for 'live' radio sessions (to ensure good quality I guess), then showing up to the station for the interview and pretending to do the tracks live when Play was pressed. No idea if that's the case here but might explain why GLR isn't credited.

I thought the Night CD was a limited edition ... or "édition limitée" as i had the same issue & eventually ended up with a french copy.

Welp, the post on the welovepulp Insta account (which sounds kind of like Mark wrote it) is pretty clear - all 3 acoustic tracks recorded at GLR for the Pete Aherne show on 22 March 1994. So there we are.

Yes I am the only person who cares about this, what of it.

Interesting!

I was all prepared to adopt your theory - of them being recorded separately, and provided to GLR - but this makes sense, too. They certainly sound like a set of three - Razzmatazz sounds very much like it was recorded at the same time as the other two.
