When Sam was 10 he very excited. He had seen his
father walking into his house with an old guitar. The
lad could not contain his joy. He started examining the
guitar thoroughly. Instead of 6 strings, that guitar had
only one string. He took the guitar to his parents and had
them spell bound by strumming the one and only string,
for from that string came beautiful music.

That lad is none other than Bro. Sam Sudhakar of India
who is renowned for talents in music for the past 16 years.


Sam Sudhakar's parents marveled at their son, inclinations
and natural talents in music. A music teacher was immediately
engaged to teach him. By the age of 16, he became well-versed
with the piano, the drum and the guitar. Just as the deer pants


for the water brooks, Bro. Sam Sudhakar began to burn with quenchless thirst to master the
areas of music. At this juncture he came across a job vacancy for a music teacher in the
Government Music College, advertised in one of the daily newspapers. He attended the
interview as he was compelled by his father. At that point he had attained an exceptional
talent in music, however he possessed no certificates to prove his ability. Nevertheless the
team of interviewers could not overlook his potentials. Thus he was appointed as a music
teacher at the said college at a young age of 17. It is after this appointment that he
successfully pursued a B.A. degree in music.

During his career as a music teacher, he rubbed shoulders with the knowledgeable Brahmin
teachers and mastered many valuable tips on Carnatic music. During his leisure hours
he had the opportunity to make musical presentations in the hotel parties, television
programmes and later to serve as a music director for the Indian Film Industry. This
went on for 16 long years.

Sam was on his way home with his friend after a music programme in a hotel. They were
passing by the Sinnamalai A.O.G. Church, a beautiful tune stole into their ears. As if struck
by a certain power they stepped in the Church. A crown had gathered for the vigil prayer,
the lyrics of the song, pictured Sam, very state of affairs. Sam was heartbroken. He felt like
the prodigal son. From that moment, Sam willed in his mind to stop playing music for the
world. Sam had the following talents: writing lyrics for songs, playing musical instruments,
composing music and directing music. He committed the 5 talents to the Lord. For the
last 1 ½ years, Bro. Sam is attached to a Christian Music Society, comprising a
membership of 1000 members. Currently, he also serves as its board member.

Sam Sudhakar has composed music for about 25 cassettes. He is also in-charge of a
music ministry called "Voice of Peace" leading about 20 artists. His wife Margaret is
a singer. His 7 year old son plays the drum.
