Ham yahan se apni tarah se puri koshish kar rahe hei kuch karane ki. hamne jo community banayi hei wo kuch na kuch karake help karati hei wahan ke liye wahan ke logo ke liye magar kabhi kabhi aisa hota hei ki wahan ke log hi coperate nahi karate hei to badi muskil ho jati hei kam wahin par ruk jata hei kyonki yahan se itna asan nahi hei bas ham emailo aur phone ka hi sahara le sakate hei personally akar har baar masala nahi suljha sakate hei.

But definitely we are trying our best.... aur ham karate rahange...

I am setteled in USA but do not miss much of the uttranchal !!!!

do you know HOW "The catch - we try to visit our uttranchal every other year". You are not gona beleive that This summer we went to Dehradun, lansdown to all the way gumkhal, satpuly, Ekeshwar and finally back to Dehradun, mansoory. My daughter even though born in USA enjoyed the most !!! (How ?? sanskaar). We got chance to enjoy the Green lahlahatey pine trees in lansdown and Hinsoley and Kingorey (pahary berry/fruit) in Ekeshwar. When I was in India before I came to USA, I also used to go lansdown but was scared to watch the zig zag narrow road of gumkhal, however now all the roads of garhwal's are much better, specially with air condition car and garhwali songs with garhwali chay(tea) and arsey(rice pury/mathari) - its heaven !!!!!!!

You are right - people are very simple and sweet, infact when they came to know that we are from USA, somebody asked me - oh so we have garhwali people in USA too and they express their thanks by saying that we came all the way to see our garhwal.

So do you see - they do not need much to be happy.

Its nice to know that people care about uttranchal even though living so far !!!

Want to express love "Help them by visiting and support, support finencially!! are you asking me??? offcourse I always help them, anybbody. You all should not surprise to know that there are many many houses in garhwal where there is no family income !!! Rest do the MATH !!!

Rest, I agree 99.9% you are right, yes curuption is still the main reason/issue for any city, village or country to stay backword or poor.

HOwever there are Still 0.1% space for right/nice people, lets join them and try to do some thing productive, contructive !!!!! in our own way to succeed.

Hello Ritu and Bindu,

I just recently surfing the web and get hold of this site. It is interesting to see how we eveb if living abroad are interested in Uttaranchal. I try to visit once in every two years as the airline price are skyrocketing I hope I will continue. In my city I try to locate anyone but sadly can't find anyone from Uttaranchal. I am from east coast. I am planning to start some kind of social work in Pauri Gharwal region, hopefully soon. All the plans are in drawing board.

Hi All

I was just looking for some online telephone directory and came across this forum.

Good to know that there are so many of "Pahari's " here.

I guess this forum can be more constructive rather than just appreciating the scenery and food in Garhwal!!!

What you guys think?

Some of the actual problems got to be dealt with like

1) When Indian economy is growing at a healthy 8% plus , why Garhwal is still lagging way behind as compared to other regions of India?

2) Education, is it at par with other parts of India.I still remember those days how shy I used to feel after telling people about my degree from HNB Garhwal university that too from Degree college jaiharikhal,with absolutely no infrastructure..I hope its been developed since then...

3) Can we get rid of small time politicians in every nook and corner of garhwal,misleading innocent people?

4) Have ministers in present state govt made any efforts to develop the state,one of the easisest way is to capitalise on Tourism, attract foreign investment? I tried my best to get education/tourism/pwd ministers from uttranchal to visit my country of residence but to no avail...?
