Inheriting the management of a cooking gas agency from his ex-serviceman father, young Vinod set out to diversify into products line – LPG storage tank, heating/cooling & power generation products, micro-turbine, leakage detection device (I haven’t listed the lot).

Before one reads further I need to make some disclosures: 1) Vinod is among my early contacts who vibed all-positive when I mentioned the idea of floating MyMysore dot com. He continues to input for this site, though not at the level of his initial enthusiasm for web interactivity; and 2) His company  supplies LPG to my place.

If you think this is a puff piece, I’d say it isn’t unmerited. For  Vinod is a local gas guy who thinks globally. And he is public spirited. He talks about concept lighting of Mysore Palace with the same passion as colour-coding cylinders or bringing to Mysore gas-retailing outlets to power motor vehicles. Energy management is his constant refrain. It is good business, he says, “adopting energy management strategy is something no business can afford to ignore”.
